Welcome (back) to the Dark Future

Our long-time logo came from Fallout Hobbies, who also was a blogger at the time.

Hi, my name is TJ Atwell. In 2009, I created a blog called Dark Future Games to share my ideas and love for the hobby. Back then, I didn’t have any real skills—just the excitement of rediscovering something I loved as a kid. My first posts were about models I painted using metallic markers, which I proudly showed off, thinking I had discovered a some new painting technique.

What really helped me grow (and put away the markers) was the feedback and collaboration from the community. Other artists and bloggers shared their thoughts, and I learned so much from their advice and insights. Over time, the ideas and conversions I posted on DFG inspired others—and I still see those concepts being taken to new heights by talented hobbyists today.

Now, I’m bringing Dark Future Games back to life. My goal is to create a space where people can find inspiration, share their creativity, and learn from one another. Along the way, I want to highlight conversion artists and sculptors who are passionate about miniature gaming. I want to inspire conversions and be inspired! DFG is a place for those who love the hobby—whether you’re looking to get inspired or showcase your own work. Welcome to Dark Future.
